hush philosophy

I began working in the complementary therapy field in 2004 after I qualified in Aromatherapy & Body Massage. After gaining further qualifications in Swedish and Thai Massage I started my own practice in Morecambe in 2007.

In 2005 I completed a course in Traditional Thai Massage at the Wat Po in Bangkok – the home of Traditional Thai Massage. Thai Massage is very different to Western treatments and is especially beneficial for athletes and dancers as it improves movement, posture, strength and flexibility. Studying this style of massage gave me a greater insight into how the body works and responds to stretching and the releasing of tension.

I furthered my studies in 2008 with a qualification in Indian Head Massage. I now use this treatment alongside Back, Neck & Shoulder Massage as an excellent means of relieving stress and tension build-up. This works equally well at home or in the workplace as the treatment can simply be carried out on a chair.

I am registered with the Federation of Holistic Therapists and follow their code of conduct. As a member of a professional body, therapists are required to obtain CPD (Continuing Professional Development) points each year, ensuring that we keep up to date with all changes and new methods. As a result of this I am continuously studying through workshops, seminars and reading and will shortly be undertaking a course in Deep Tissue Massage.
